I once heard that you can have your website at the top 3-5 listings on popular search engines like Yahoo, Google and MSN all for free. Does anyone know how ?

My website is located in Idaho. However my site statistics show the most traffic coming from Marina Del Ray, CA, and Fairfax, VA. Why is this? I was told that the AOL search engines are in VA and Yahoo in California. Who knows? Help please.

There’s a client at the office who browses through bad sites. I use firefox. Can someone tell me how to ban all the sites containing words that i specify. I also want to prevent him from searching google or other search engines.

I’m going to publish my crime thriller novel on my web site, accessable via PayPal and password. I don’t want the search engines to list those pages on their directories. And I can’t find the script on Yahoo! Web Hosting Help. Can you help me?

How can you get your website on search engines, such as yahoo or google, so when people enter something having to do with your website they can find it when they search?

Yahoo and Google are the two big search engines, but they both have auto complete pop downs when you type in your search and I hate that. Is it possible to change settings in my browser to stop this from happening? Failing that is there a reliable third search engine I could use?

I have just made a new website and no one is visiting it because no matter what you search on Yahoo or Google etc., its not coming up as a choice. Is there a way you know of to get a website to be listed on search engines? Thanks!
