How do you erase entries in a search engine?

I want to erase things that I put into a search engine on sites like yahoo or google but everytime I go back, they keep coming up. Please help.

    The tools menu of your internet explorer and pick internet explorer and pick internet explorer and pick internet explorer and click on the tools menu of your internet explorer and click on the tools menu of your internet explorer and click on the auto complete button good.
